Storm Éowyn left thousands without power and lead to massive amounts of destruction right across our communuity. In line with the Energy Regulator, Ofgem's Guarenteed Standards covering exceptional events, Scottish Power Energy Network customers may be entitled to compensation. You can find all the information you need below.

Hot Food Claims

Constituents are now able to claim costs of hot food while their power was out via the following online form on Scottish Power's website. This information must be provided within 10 days from the end of the incident.

Hotel Accommodation Claims

Constituents are able to claim the cost of stays in hotels while their power was out. They should send invoices to [email protected] along with confirmation of their full name, address and contact number. Customers can claim up to £200 per night, per household, max. The payment will take up to 4 weeks after the event ends to process.

Compensation

SPN are subject to Ofgem's Compensation Guidelines. Storm Éowyn is likely to be
classed as a Category 2 Storm by the Met Office. Therefore, residents are entitled to
£85 compensation if their power supply is cut for more than 48 hours. For every six
hours after that, residents are entitled to £40, up to a total of £2,000. If you require

Frozen Food

Compensation for the loss of frozen food due to a lack of power to a fridge/freezer is normally covered by home insurance, though this is subject to each resident's home insurance policy.
